HANDBAGS OH MY!

Today the Nordstrom anniversary sale opens up to the public and items will go quick so make sure you grab them before  Are you tired of me talking about the sale yet? I promise I am almost done however I have to tell you about all the great handbags on sale. There really are so many great bags in this years sale and in so many different colors and prices. I am even considering grabbing a few for Christmas gifts. By the way, my favorite couple of items from the sale are this cardigan(which I ordered in black and grey) and this t-shirt which will be perfect to throw on with jeans come Fall.  Those were both budget friendly options for cardigans however I did purchase this Equipment cardigan as well, it’s more of an investment piece but it’s wool plus cashmere so I know it will keep me warm throughout Winter. I am such a cardigan and blazer person in Fall and Winter that it’s worth it to me to investment in a piece like this. I will definitely get my money’s worth.

NORDSTROM FAVORITES UNDER $50

The Nordstrom Anniversary early access is still going strong with the sale opening to the public this Friday. Lots of items have already sold out, but I’ve tried to round up some great deals under $50. If you have a Nordstrom credit or debit card now is the time to shop. I have to be honest that I wasn’t overly impressed when I went on Friday and ended up coming home and ordering a lot of stuff online. I should be receiving my purchases today and will let you know what I am keeping, but I am also thinking of maybe picking up a few of these items under $50 as they would be great for work or the weekend. For more of my favorite items from the sale be sure to check out my Nordstrom page.

TOPS & SWEATERS

Burgundy is once again hot for Fall and I love this blouse with the bow detail, it would look great with a nice pair of black trousers or black denim for the weekend. I ordered these booties and paired with this handbag would be a perfect combination. I also love a great cardigan in the Fall, so easy to throw on over a great t-shirt with jeans and booties and you can’t beat the price of both of these. I ordered a black and grey one to try out.

DRESSES

I have been wearing so many dresses this Summer mostly because it’s been so hot outside. I love the look of this stripe one with  booties or peep toes, and this chambray one with lace up heels.

BOTTOMS

The sale this year includes a lot of great high end denim at amazing prices but you can also find some great denim under $50 as well. Love these destroyed skinny black denim, as well as this pair.  Last year I bought these leggings and absolutely love them. I wore them all the time in the Fall to run errands, on the airplane, and even with a long tunic on the weekends.  I also need a new pair of work pants and love these in multiple colors.

PICNIC ESSENTIALS

Sunday we packed up a picnic and headed to the annual Kansas City’s Big Picnic at the Nelson Atkins Art Museum. We did this picnic last year with friends and had such a great time that we knew we couldn’t miss this year. The picnic put on by KC Parks and Recreation is a great way to get the city together on the lawn of the art museum with music, games, and food trucks. It’s also a fun excuse to have a picnic and I am always looking for an excuse to have a picnic. I wanted to share some of my picnic essentials with you in case you are planning your own this Summer. I love this Madewell towel  for so many reasons, it’s so colorful with enough room to spread out and even though it’s a towel I have been using more as a blanket. I also have this one from Nordstrom and love also, it’s not as big as the Madewell towel but it’s perfect for using at a picnic. Second, is a cute picnic basket and market tote to carry all your food. You can find great deals on picnic baskets actually on Amazon like this wicker one complete with tableware. I use the market tote to pack my blanket, cheese board, knives, and bottles of Rosé. Some of our friends actually had these wine stake holders which were perfect and I am definitely picking these up for our next time. For food I prefer to keep it simple with a few kinds of cheese, sausage, fruit(watermelon is perfect right now since it’s so hot), crackers, a summer salad( I made this one here and it was delicious), and a deli sandwich. I also like to pack the food in bowls with lids to keep things organized and easy to pack up. I found these mixing bowls at Target and quickly snatched them up because the price point was a steal. I also make a note to bring little things such as napkins, extra paper bags for trash, a wine opener, and I always pack a bottle of Evian spritzer to spray on London when she gets hot. I am hoping the weather cools down some this month so we can have a few more picnics to enjoy and next time we are thinking a breakfast picnic with mimosas and croissants.

BEST OF SHOES

Definitely adding another pair of lace up flats for the Fall, loving the print of these Nikes and exactly what I am looking for, a pair of black booties are on my list to try an these are a great price, if I didn’t already own a pair of Hunters I’d be snagging these up quickly. Every year, I say I am going to buy a pair of riding boots and I love these Tory Burch.  Black pumps are also on my list and love these Via Spiga.

FAVORITE HANDBAGS

So happy Lonchamp is included in the sale this year and this bag will definitely be coming home with me today, I am a huge Longchamp fan. This is a great price for this Tory Burch  crossbody bag as it would be perfect for market runs and when you  need to be hands free. Love the color and style of this Rebecca Minkoff bag, and this is a great everyday tote and would even be a good Christmas gift for someone.

BEST OF BEAUTY

I like to purchase beauty items I wouldn’t necessarily get for myself during the year like this Beach in a Box from Drybar,  I will be buying these Diptyque candles for sure as they are my absolute favorite. If you’re thinking of trying these candles or gifting them for someone this is absolutely the time to pick them up. Having a sleep mask actually does help with sleeping I have found and I love this silk version. I love having these Evian water spray bottles on hand for the park and events when we are outside. I can easily just pop one in my purse and use for London whenever she needs. They really do help on those hot days when you need a refresher. I bought these travel brushes last year before we went to Paris and they are wonderful and are perfect for throwing in your suitcase.

ALL STAR ACCESSORIES

This pair of sunglasses will keep you stylish all year, and there’s several fun colors you can choose from. I saw these Kendra Scott earrings on someone last week and loved them plus they’d also be a great gift for someone. Love a great classic two tone watch and if you’re looking to upgrade yours this Burberry is beautiful. These studs are gorgeous and a must have if you need a basic pair to wear everyday.

FAVORITE LOOKS FOR FALL

Denim is number one on my list for Fall and I am loving these Rag and Bone Boyfriend and Paige which is my all time favorite denim. Two jackets I am loving are this Burberry quilted with a hood which is perfect for Fall, not too heavy, but enough warmth, and this drape front which I didn’t buy last year and am still kicking myself. This will be perfect with jeans and even dressing up.  I am all about cardigans in the Fall and you can’t beat the price of this Halogen one which comes in several basic colors and for a little bit more luxury this Equipment one is high on my list , I absolutely love this Tory Burch poncho, as well as this Rag and Bone.  This Free People sweater looks comfy and cozy with a few great colors, and these Rag and Bone crop pants would be a good investment piece as they could be dressed up or down with booties or pumps.
