Five years ago today you came into this world and immediately changed our lives forever. I remember the day so vividly, it was a horrible snowstorm, like 10 inches, and half the hospital staff had gone home. You kept us (well more like me) waiting for three long days( in labor) before you finally greeted us. We had waited for you for so long, three years to be exact, and the moment was finally here. Everyday since that day February 22, 2013, have been the best days of our lives. You are truly a blessing that we count each and every day. I can’t believe today you are turning five because it seems like just yesterday we brought you home. Everyone always tells you that it goes by so fast but you don’t really believe them when you are in the moment of waking up every two hours for feedings or dealing with a temper tantrum. They are so right though because these five years have flown by and it’s been so heart fulfilling watching you grown into your own little person. You have such an amazing heart already at such a young age and your smile and laugh light up any room you walk into. Sometimes at night when you’re sleeping I sneak into your room to peek on you and just watch you sleep and thank god that he choose me to be your mama.
My advice to you as you continue to grow is always be kind and strong willed, our world is filled with so much anger these days, it worries me for you. I know though that with your big heart, determination, and strength you will always be able to handle any situation that comes your way. Don’t ever let anyone tell you that you aren’t capable of doing something and always stand up for what you believe. Know that life is full of ups and downs, but the ups more than make up for the downs. And, go after your dreams. Whatever they may be, reach for them and follow them because you only have one life and you have to make the most of your journey. Always know that your dada and I will be here for you no matter what comes at you. We will cheer you on from the sidelines as you go and we will be here to help pick you up when needed.
We love you more than you know London Rose and wish you the happiest birthday ever. Love Mom and Dad.
