One of the things I most love about Paris are the neighborhoods or arroindissements as they refer to them. Each one has it’s own special vibe, cafes, parks, and shops. There are 20 arroindissements in all and they wind around the city starting with one in the city centre and moving out in a clock-wise direction. If you are visiting Paris for the first time, it’s best to research each arroindissement before you book your hotel, so you have an idea of which one might appeal to you more. Although, how can you ever go wrong in an area of Paris. One of my favorites from our last visit was the 6th, Saint-German-Des-Prés. This area on the left bank is known for it’s history, fashion, and literary scene. It’s the perfect area to just walk the streets of Paris. A quote I love about Saint-Germain from Sameul Johnson says, If you are bored in Saint-Germain, then you are bored with life.
