Sweetheart Gifts

Valentine’s Day has always been one of those days that I think is really fun, but it’s never been a big deal to me.  Until this year of course.  I know I keep saying it but the holidays are so much more fun with London.  I did manage to get her a few gifts of course that she can actually use.

I found the heart pillow in the dollar bin at Target, which is already falling a part by the way. Thank goodness I only paid a dollar for the piece of crap. The art print is by my favorite Kansas City artists and will go in her playroom. I will be doing a full post on the playroom once it’s complete. The little nursery rhymes book came from a children’s store here in town. I had another copy that accidentally went in the trash so I had to pick up another one.  It’s the cutest little book all about purses, shoes, and clothes.  What more could a almost one year old want!  The heart hoodie came from the GapKids sale rack for $10.

The hubs is a little more difficult to get a gift for but I did manage to make him some V-day sweets.  These totally go against our my clean eating habits I am trying to form around here, but what the hell. We won’t be going out anywhere so I figure we can stuff our faces with fat marshmallows instead.  This recipe was really easy if you’re looking for a quick treat.

I will also pick him up a 6 pack of fun and different beers from World Market. Our plans are he’s going to cook one of my favorite dinners and then we will just chillax. These days something special is staying up past 9pm.

If you follow me on Instagram then you saw this card I made the other night for my two sweeties at an event held at Anthropologie by the Ampersand Design girls. The event was super fun and I even had the chance to meet some other KC bloggers!

I also may have picked up a few V-day goodies for myself.  Why not? Just a few things to celebrate my love for all the fun things in life.

A new Essie nail polish, this candle I couldn’t resist since it had the word Macaron in the title.  And, a book by my favorite blogger.

Here’s wishing everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day!
