This time of year always comes around where I start to rethink my workout routine, what I am eating vs. what I should be eating, and what kind of diet I should start.  Well, this year I am looking at things a little differently. Instead of going on some crazy kind of diet that never works I want to find ways to incorporate healthy clean living into our day to day lives.  I consider myself pretty healthy in the first place but I can always do better.  I’d like to start experimenting with different types of food specifically eating more Kale, cutting out more processed food, and thinking more about where our food comes from.  Especially now that London is starting to eat real food I have to start thinking differently.  Here are a few recipes I am going to try over the next few weeks.  I’ll let you know about the ones that taste fabulous and the ones that don’t taste fabulous will go into the recipe black hole.  Let me know what your healthy plans are for the year!

Kale Salad with Lemon Vinaigrette

Roasted + Clean Carrot Soup

I actually made this soup the other day and it’s freaking amazing!

100days100 Days of Real Food

This website talks about why you shouldn’t be eating processed foods and gives great snack ideas for kids.

Avocado Toast- This has become a staple for me. It’s so easy and tastes delicious. Toast 2 pieces of whole wheat bread, spread on vegan mayo(or whatever you like to use), top with several pieces of fresh avocado, add a little pepper to taste.  Easy Peasy.

We actually drink a fruit smoothie every morning for breakfast but it’s probably time to change it up a bit and try different kinds of smoothies.  I’d also like to start juicing with our Vitamix.  I purchased a nut milk bag the other day and can’t wait to juice away.

More H2O.

I probably drink more water than the average person. Actually, probably more than a water buffalo but I love my water. However, I need to start putting more lemons and cucumbers in my water to help with digestion and great looking skin.

I’d love to hear about some of your healthy living ways and what recipes you are using this year.

Thanks for reading.
