NEW BEAUTY FAVORITES

Lately, I’ve been using a few new beauty products and wanted to share those with you as well as some old staples. I would consider my beauty routine pretty low maintenance, it takes me less than 10 minutes to do my make up every morning. Over the years I’ve found some products that are tried and true and some not as good as others. I’d like to think it’s still a work in progress finding that one specific beauty product that’s perfect but these are the ones I am using now.

Marc Jacobs Coconut Face Primer– I was a little hesitant to try this at first because I thought Marc Jacobs designs clothes, what does he know about beauty. Thanks to Instagram though I kept seeing it all over the place so I decided to grab a sample to try. This is honestly the best face primer I’ve ever tried and I’ve used Bare Minerals, Smashbox, and NARS before, but none of them compare to this primer. It goes on very smooth and you only need a little to go a long way. I was worried with the coconut that it might make my face look oily but it gives it such a hydrating feel and doesn’t look oily at all. Plus, it wears well throughout the day and keeps my makeup looking fresh.

CHANEL Le Lift Eye Crème– Eye cream is one of those products I am completely obsessed with. I put on my eye cream religiously twice a day and probably would three times a day if I could. I have always been obsessed with eye cream and I am not sure why, I guess I am trying best to keep those darn wrinkles away. I started using this one a few years ago and honestly I am not sure why. I think one of my friends who worked at CHANEL talked me into it and I’ve loved it ever since. I used to use Shiseido Benefiance and it’s probably just as good and cheaper.  My mom has been using it for years and it definitely works for her, the woman has no wrinkles. Maybe one day I will go back to using it again.

CHANEL Le Weekend-This is a great exfoliator for the weekends and gives wonderful hydration. It has rose water and glycolic acid which is gradually released. I usually do this on Sundays or when we aren’t going anywhere for the day. Sometimes I’ll put on at night as well for a little exfoliation.

CHANEL Rouge Allure Luminous Lip– The color is 136, Mèlodieuse a beautiful bold color of pink and orange for the season. These are my most favorite lip colors, they have a lot of pigment in them so the color is nice and rich. Plus, I find CHANEL lip colors to always be wonderfully hydrating and lasting. Something else I also use to help my lip color stay on during the day is Aesop Rosehip Seed Lip Cream which I picked up in Paris. I am not sure how it stays on, but the sales lady recommended it to me when I asked for something to keep lipstick on during the day. It truly works but you have to order the product online unless you have and Aesop near you.

Byredo Hand Cream– Now that the weather is getting warmer I’ve started using this hand cream once again. I don’t usually use during the Winter months because I need something heavier like my go to L’Occitane. I have an addiction for expensive hand creams, don’t ask me why, just one of those things.

I’ll start keeping you posted as I try new items especially for the Summer. Would love to know your go to beauty products.

Reading: Any and every blog I can find about Paris and France. Some of my favorite at the moment that are on my daily reads include: Rebecca Plotnick Photography , My Beautiful ParisParis In Four Months, and mimithorisson.

Going: Saturday the hubs and I are attending Taste of Park Place,  a benefit for a local women’s shelter. There will be a beer and wine taste around followed by a dine around featuring 13 restaurants. We are looking forward to a wonderful event supporting such a great cause.

Drinking: I also plan on drinking some of the Rosé I picked up from the wine tasting event the other night. Today I can pick up the case we ordered of all the different Rosé’s we enjoyed and I am so excited to have the chance to bring these bottles home. One of my girlfriends also mentioned Trader Joes is carrying a great Rosé now as well if you’re a fan.

Shopping: J. CREW has new arrivals this week and you can get 30% off your purchase with code: TIMETOSHOP until Sunday. Loving these espadrilles and this striped top.  In case you missed yesterday’s post it was all about my Spring edit.

Next Up: Check back next week for DIY flower arranging, a Mother’s Day gift guide, and one place in Paris I can’t wait to visit.

So happy it’s the weekend, although I am pretty sure it’s supposed to rain all weekend. Our yard is so overgrown with weeds and I was hoping to get out and plant some flowers but not sure that will happen. Anyways, I guess we will stay inside and hopefully finish up a few house projects. I am still working on finishing my office, big surprise, and we still need to decorate the navy room now so maybe that will happen.

Thankful: Our Lilo is doing so much better this week. Thank you to all who emailed, text, and left comments about Lilo. She basically had to spend one night at the vet hooked up to IV, but is now home on steroids and doing amazing.

Drinking: Have you ever wondered if there are true benefits to drinking lemon water? Watch this and it will solidify the answer. I myself have been drinking more lemon water in the morning.

Shopping: Some great sales going on over the weekend you don’t want to miss! Madewell is having one of their best sales in my opinion through Monday. You will receive 20% off your purchase of $100 or more and 30% off your purchase of $200 or more. I am loving these sandals and these, this top, this top which is one of my favorites, and this eyelet dress.  J. Crew is also having a major sale with up to 75% off right now through Sunday.

Decorating: In case you missed Tuesday’s post on Sprucing up for Spring around the house.

Admiring: Loving these pictures from Paris right now, it’s absolutely gorgeous in the Spring. Actually, it’s gorgeous anytime of the year but I just love looking at these pictures. They are making me more excited for our trip in September.

Sweets: In case you’re in the mood for some baking this weekend. These blueberry tarts look incredible.

Several weeks ago I had the opportunity to attend a Profile Pic Party with Peep Toe Photography and a few other girlfriends.  Peep Toe has recently started doing profile pic parties for groups of ladies who want to get together for a fabulous few hours of pampering. The girls from Laura Mercier were on hand to do our makeup and we sipped on champagne all while getting our picture taken. Who doesn’t love to have their make up done and then have a professional picture taken? I know I clearly do! The overall party is for those women who would like professional pictures taken to use for their profile pic on their blog, for their social media page, for their business or whatever they might need a picture for. It was such a fun few hours with the ladies and a great way to get friends together. If you’re interested in doing a profile pic party with Peep Toe give them a call, Emily and Corie are fantastic to work with and so fun!
