The Panama Hat

So, funny story about this outfit.  When I was writing this post the hubs was flipping through the channels and came across the movie Sixteen Candles.  I looked up and saw Molly Ringwald in a black hat similar to this, shirt, and skirt and I immediately started dying laughing. Clearly, I don’t have red hair and my name isn’t Samantha Baker but funny how my look seems to be channeling the 1980s. Back to the present day though and I have lived in my panama hat this Summer and wanted a black one as well, so I picked this up back in July when J.CREW was doing one of their sales. I will wear this hat until it gets super cold and it’s time to change to a Fedora. For some reason I am on a hat kick this year. This fluted skirt is probably one of my most favorite skirts ever. I plan on taking it into Fall as well with booties and comfy sweaters but just picked up this one over the holiday weekend. I didn’t plan on focusing on Molly Ringwald in this post but after seeing that image I can’t get it out of my head.

  • You just look so cute and trendy in that hat. I wish I could pull off such a fashion forward look, girl! 🙂

    • Thanks Meg. You always have the nicest things to say! I am not sure I am pulling it off, but I liked it so I made it happen!
