This is going to be catch up week on the blog umkay. All these things I’ve needed to share with you over the past month but haven’t, so get ready. Four days after we moved into our house we headed to South Florida for the week. We had already had the vacation planned before we knew when we were moving and still can’t decide if it was a good idea or bad idea to go on vacation right after moving into a new house. My brother lives in Boca Raton so we had planned on staying with him the whole time and visiting Miami a few nights as well. He had asked what we wanted to do specifically when we got there and I told him all we wanted were some good cocktails and time laying on the beach. I was completely horrified when he text me the night before we were leaving and told me that it was pouring there and was supposed to rain the whole time we were there. Thankfully, it only rained the first day and the rest of the trip was hot and Sunny. We spent the first day in Ft. Lauderdale going to a couple of beachside restaurants for cocktails and appetizers and finished the night at Roco’s Tacos. If you ever get the chance to eat at one, you absolutely must and order the table side Guacamole, it will change your life. The second day we headed to Miami for dinner and the hubs and I actually met with Sara and her husband. I have followed Sara’s blog for several years now and we’ve become good friends over instagram and through blogging. I was so excited to finally meet her and we ended up talking and drinking Rosé until almost midnight. It was the perfect blogging blind date and the restaurant and atmosphere were amazing and gorgeous. I highly recommend Cecconi’s at the Soho Beach House if you get a chance. My brother took us to a few other Miami spots like the Wynwood Art District and I was also able to pop into Ladureé in the design district for some macarons. Saturday night we spent in Miami at the Delano and we are definitely staying here next time we go back. The cocktails were incredible and the scenery was even better. Sunday we spent walking around Boca Raton and had brunch at Kapow with bottomless Mimosa’s, what could be a better way to spend a Sunday. By the end of the trip we were ready to see London but not ready to come home to a house full of unpacked boxes. Right about now is when I could actually use a vacation..
